Our Certifications

Colégio Visconde de Porto Seguro is always looking for partnerships that enrich the training of our students and aggregate differentials so that they can stand out when they start their higher education. Following, learn about some of the school’s main awards, certifications and partnerships.

Exzellente Deutsche Auslandsschule Certification

The international certification “German School of Excellence Abroad”, granted by the government of Germany, recognizes Porto Seguro as the largest German School of excellence abroad. Different requirements, which include infrastructure, partnerships with national and international educational institutions, quality of equipment in classrooms, libraries and laboratories, as well as the results from the School in Abitur (official certification for admission to European universities), admissions at national and international universities, German language certificates, satisfaction of parents, students and teachers, were evaluated and considered.

Unesco ASPnet Certification

Porto belongs to UNESCO Associated Schools Network (ASPnet), a worldwide network of educational institutions currently made up of around 10,000 schools in more than 180 countries. The Unesco ASPnet certificate, obtained after a rigorous process, recognizes the school’s work in training our students, focusing on the development of a worldview based on universal values defended and propagated by UNESCO.

Little Scientist's House

The school is certified as the first Little Scientist's House in Brazil and Latin America. Created by German researchers and scientists, the project offers a series of playful experiences for children aged between three and six. With the support of the German Ministry of Education and Development, it is present in more than 28,000 kindergarten schools worldwide. The certification obtained by Porto attests to its excellence in the educational process of research and scientific discovery.

Studienkolleg

3rd-grade High School students have the option to take a 12-month preparatory course in Germany that qualifies them to study at German universities.

These preparatory classes are weekly and free of charge. The requirements are:

- High School completed;

- DSD II Certificate (level B2);

- Approval in the admission exam for the course itself in the fields of German and Mathematics.

Deutsches Sprachdiplom (DSD)

Porto's students can obtain the Deutsches Sprachdiplom?(DSD), a German language proficiency diploma issued by the German Conference of Ministers of Education and Culture. A great differential of our school, since the DSD opens doors for those who want to study in foreign universities or participate in government programs to study abroad.

Cambridge

Since 2012, Porto Seguro has been an authorized testing center for the official Cambridge University exams. We are one of the few schools in Brazil to have this permission. To obtain it, an Oral Examiner preparation was carried out with 100% of our English teachers. Structural changes were also implemented, such as adapting the materials used in class, dividing the rooms by levels and adopting the teaching guidelines proposed by the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages.

Higher Education Institutions

As of 2016, the school has established partnerships with the FIA College of Administration and Business, FGV, ESPM, FAAP (Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado), Belas Artes, Ibmec (RJ, SP, DF and MG) and Faculdades DeVry Metrocamp (Campinas and Recife), which started accepting the Abitur International Diploma as a means of admission in their undergraduate courses. As a result, the candidates who have won the Abitur are accepted without having to take the Brazilian admission exam.
