VISUAL ARTS STUDIO
Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Collage, Engraving and Digital Art are just some of the creative possibilities offered by this course. Under the guidance of the artist-teacher, the students develop their own aesthetic-artistic path, creating a consistent body of authorial work.
DRUMS
Drumming lessons develop rhythmic awareness and motor coordination, which are essential skills for practising this instrument. The course involves reading specific rhythmic scores for drums in different styles and rhythms.
CHOIR
The human voice is the most accessible musical instrument. Singing entertains, releases inhibitions, stimulates the senses, improves concentration and self-awareness, refines musical taste, develops rhythmic sense, memory and expressiveness, and promotes sociability and teamwork. By taking choir classes, one discovers the pleasure of singing in a group!
GASTRONOMY
In this course, students experiment with ingredients, learn techniques and prepare a variety of recipes. At the same time as developing culinary skills, they learn to work as a team, appreciate new flavours and value real, home-cooked food that is less processed and healthier.
PIANO
Piano lessons are entirely practical, working on the fundamentals of reading sheet music. Students develop rhythm and work on concentration. The aim of the course is to make students better at reading music, deepen their theoretical knowledge and make them play music with different rhythms such as tango, samba, rock and bossa nova.
THEATRE
Acting makes students realise that they are the protagonists of their own lives, increases their self-awareness, and shows them the importance of learning to work as a team. Through acting, students begin to appreciate human diversity, in addition to the richness of their creative minds and expressive bodies. To act is to be active, to feel present, and to be stimulated in all your abilities as a person: sensory, emotional and intellectual. At the end of the school year, we presented a beautiful show for parents and guests.
ACOUSTIC GUITAR
This course covers the fundamentals of music applied to the acoustic guitar, not to train instrumentalists but to provide the student with more effective and intimate contact with the instrument. Through the activities offered in each lesson, students discover sounds, melodies and chords, expanding their repertoire and improving their ability to recognise harmonic scales and read music.
VIOLIN
Violin lessons are practical and aim to help the student get a good sound from the instrument, learn rhythmic and melodic fundamentals and read sheet music. Although commonly associated with the image of the orchestral musician, the violin is a very versatile instrument that suits different musical languages.
YOUNG FILM-MAKER WORKSHOP
Aimed at Middle and High School students, this workshop introduces students to the cinematographic universe through practical exercises with professional equipment. Students experience the stages of the filmmaking process, from script writing, decoupage, camera operation, lighting, art, direction, sound and editing to the big moment: the experience of watching the work itself. Cinema can pleasantly awaken important skills, such as cooperation, sensitivity, observation, creativity and especially the expression of ideas.
PORTO ROCK & POP BANDS
Porto Rock & Pop Bands brings together 9th-grade and High School students who are passionate about music to form bands and learn techniques like professional musicians. Bands meet weekly to rehearse the carefully chosen repertoire and prepare to perform at various events inside and outside the school.
