After the 12th grade of High School, students study for another school year and can proceed to Abitur’s “Deutsche Internationale Abitursprüfung” (DIAP). The exam that marks the completion of High School in Germany is required by every German educational institution. This title allows admission to German universities and most European countries, the United States, and a growing number of universities in Brazil. The Abitur is taken only once, and its score is valid for life. The certificate contains all subjects and grades from the last two academic years.
Since 2016, renowned Brazilian institutions have started to accept the Abitur as an option to enrol in their undergraduate courses, without the need for an admission exam. Currently, the diploma is accepted* by FGV, ESPM (SP and RJ), FIA, FAAP, Centro Universitário Belas Artes, Faculdade Albert Einstein, Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie, FEI, PUC/RJ, among others.
*It is recommended to check, each semester, whether these universities will accept the Abitur in their selection processes for the period.
